These terms and conditions apply to all sales in our online shop at bowditchantiques.com and orders received via telephone. Please don’t hesitate to contact us before your purchase if you have any questions or concerns. We work hard to keep our shopping cart current, however product availability is subject to prior sales.
Cancellations and Refunds
All sales are final.
Bowditch Antiques & Collectibles does not issue refunds, exchanges, credits or returns.
Bowditch Antiques & Collectibles ensures that we do our best to describe our products accurately and honestly based on the best resources available. Our product textual descriptions are supplemented by photographs meant to provide a diligent visual representation, approximating those of an in-store examination as closely as possible. Previews of items are available at our physical store location in Bakersville, NC upon request. Bowditch Antiques & Collectibles is happy to try and clarify information and provide additional support according to our customers’ wishes. Please read the product description and examine photos carefully. Request additional images if desired. Note the item’s weight and dimensions. Finally, please attempt to resolve any questions before placing your order.
Note: large items such as furniture don’t have weights indicated on their shopping cart Product Pages. This is because they require special shipping arrangements. You can’t finalize a purchase on the Website for these items. You will need to phone us to make the final purchase and arrange for shipping.
Please remember that our items are antique and many are often many decades old. Expect some normal wear and tear such as minor scratches or blemishes. We are careful to note on the product page any damage or repairs that the items may have sustained. Contact us with 24-48 hours of purchase if there is a problem with the order that you have placed and we will do our best to mediate the issue. Restocking fees may apply in rare cases where management agrees to refunds, cancellations, credits, exchanges or returns. Orders awaiting pick-up and shipment may not be canceled.
Warranties
Bowditch Antiques & Collectibles strives to offer only quality antiques, collectibles and gifts. We note any damage, condition or specific issues and/or repairs in our Product Pages. Due to the unique nature of many of our products, they are sold as-is, with no warranty or guarantee.
Our written statements, although based on fact, research, and occasionally appraisal, must be considered strictly as opinions. The buyer is responsible for final judgment to accept or reject our opinion. We assume that you accept the information provided once you have purchased the item.

State of North Carolina Sales Tax
What is subject to North Carolina Sales Tax?
Orders collected in person by the purchaser (“Local Pickup”) or by his agent are subject to 6.75% North Carolina sales tax. State tax is 4.75% and Mitchell County sales tax is 2%.
Orders shipped to a North Carolina address are subject to 6.75% sales tax, unless a legitimate sales tax permit certificate of exemption can be provided. Orders shipped to addresses out of North Carolina are not subject to NC sales tax.

What is NOT subject to North Carolina Sales Tax?
Orders shipped to addresses outside of North Carolina are not subject to North Carolina Sales Tax.
Sales tax-exempt buyers within the State of North Carolina must submit a North Carolina Form E-595E at the time of purchase. Our online shopping cart charges sales tax for in-state shipping and for local pickup. If you are tax exempt, please contact us at 828-537-3062 to make your purchase.

Shipping
Shipping and insurance costs are your responsibility. For most items, we offer shipping either by UPS or USPS. We are happy to assist you with any shipping questions you might have. North Carolina requires sales tax at the rate of 6.75% is charged on shipping to in-state addresses and for local pickup at our physical store.
Large and heavy items such as furniture require special shipping arrangements. So, if you’re in our shopping cart and find a piece of furniture you want to buy, you’ll see a notice that you will need to phone us about finalizing the purchase and making shipping arrangements.
We are not responsible for damage or loss during shipment. We recommend that you add insurance with your purchase.
Storage
Bowditch Antiques & Collectibles is a small shoppe and does not store items once purchased in full. If there are extenuating circumstances, contact us and we can make arrangements. A storage fee on large items may be charged.
